Message from the Founder

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have (a) movement! That’s right… thanks to early adopters like you, other organizations working in the orphan space, and our 17 years of groundbreaking work, we now have a:

1. Movement (noun): A group of people working together to advance a shared political, social, or artistic idea

After all these years, there is finally alignment around a global goal: A loving family for every child. Miracle Foundation has partnered with some amazing organizations and together we are working toward a world without the need for orphanages, a world where every child is wanted and belongs. We are transforming orphanages into a thing of the past. Imagine that.

If you are keeping up with the world of orphan care, you may have heard about the work toward the deinstitutionalization of orphanages. Deinstitutionalization is now a worldwide movement that is focused on reuniting children with their families. Did you know that more than 50% of the world’s orphans have living family members who simply can’t afford to feed, clothe, and educate them?

Miracle Foundation is a big part of this movement. We stand for children. Our work focuses on helping children thrive in real time and providing every child with a loving home whenever possible. We do this through training, educating, and equipping orphanages to create pathways for children to remain or reunite with their birth families, or to find a loving home through kinship care, adoption, and other family-based care options. And we guarantee a quality education, a safe and loving environment, and personalized care for the children while they transition to that family.

This is not easy work. 132 million children deserve 132 million individualized care plans. This is going to take the best of us. And, while we do not have all the answers, what we do have is passion, expertise, the humility to listen, the willingness to learn, the courage to take risks, a strategic approach, the children, an incredibly supportive Board… and YOU.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this Miracle. Stay tuned for updates on our partnerships in this movement. None of us is as strong as all of us.

Love,
Caroline
