In 2000, when TMF’s founder, Caroline Boudreaux found herself in an eastern India orphanage filled with more than 100 bald, filthy, and hungry orphaned children, she met a young girl named Sheebani. Sheebani was a beautiful child, vying for the affection she was desperately lacking. After singing a lullaby and rocking Sheebani to sleep, Caroline took the child upstairs in hopes of placing her into crib. Instead of a crib, Caroline found 30 wooden-slatted beds, reminiscent of those found in a WWII concentration camp. When Caroline laid Sheebani down and heard her bones hit that hard wooden bed, she vowed to do something to make a difference.
